Top 5 Reasons To Attend a Mt. Pleasant Baseball Tournament
Reason # 1 - Volunteers
The Diamond Warriors is a non-profit, volunteer organization, and all tournament proceeds are used to benefit youth baseball.
Virtually all of our volunteers and tournament organizers are the parents or grandparents of ball players. As such, we have a complete understanding of what players, coaches, and family look for in a tournament.
Our volunteers are constantly updating the website filled with convenient information to help make your experience the best possible. The website supports online registration and prepared downloadable coach's documents for your convenience. Also, a detailed map of the venues is available for download.
Our volunteers keep you informed during the tournament by posting all scores at all venues and maintaining a hotline for each age group. We make sure that virtually every game has a skilled announcer, because we know that it means the world to a 10 year old to hear his name over the PA system.
Our volunteers research local hotel specials, because we also know the expenses involved in travel baseball.
Our volunteers hand pick the very best umpires from throughout the region, and we maintain a veteran umpire to serve as protest committee.
Reason # 2 - Competition
Mt. Pleasant tournaments consistently draw the very best teams from throughout the country. During recent tournaments many teams that went on to "place" and win national championships have competed in our events. We have had the pleasure of welcoming teams from throughout the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, and Ohio. Our long time participants know that each Mt. Pleasant event will present highly talented teams from different parts of the country.
Reason # 3 - Facilities
Mt. Pleasant Tournaments boasts some of the finest fields and venues to be found anywhere in the Southeast. Our Recreation Department maintains 16 excellent baseball fields that are available for tournament use. In addition, our great friends at the College of Charleston and the Citadel also make their venues available for our use during tournament play. In an effort to see that our fields remain well kept throughout each tournament, we keep grounds crews on call from the first pitch until the championship trophies have been presented.
Reason # 1 - Location
Mt. Pleasant is a quaint yet vibrant little coastal town that was originally founded in 1680. It is located just across the harbor from historic Charleston and just moments from the beaches of Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms. It is home to Boone Hall Plantation (America's most photographed plantation), the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, the USS Yorktown, and the United States Congressional Medal of Honor Museum. Mt. Pleasant is best known for its hospitality and incredible lowcountry cuisine.
Reason # 5 - The Food
For over three centuries the seafood industry has been at the center of our town's economic engine. Fourth and fifth generation shrimpers still make their way out of Shem Creek, through the Charleston Harbor, and out into the Atlantic to claim the day's harvest. You will not find fresher or better prepared seafood anywhere in the world. Sit and feast at the water's edge at any of the fantastic restaurants located on Shem Creek. Go for it and order the seafood platter or indulge in the lowcountry's signature dish, Shrimp 'n' Grits.
